There are days she feels so overwhelmed by everything, she can hardly breathe. She gets overwhelmed by the pressure to succeed, by the importance of not making mistakes, by the huge impact everything she does seems to have on her life. When she comes home after a day like that, filled with anxiety and stress, she lies down on the floor of her apartment and she stares out her skylight for a long time. The stars make her realize once again how small she is. How small her problems are. The stars make her realize that in comparison with the universe, the solar system we live in is smaller than a single grain of sand. She doesn’t matter, just like all people, just like all life on earth. The stars make her feel insignificant in a wonderful way.
